Walk Off 10 Pounds Fast

By the Editors of Walk It Off

In the handful of minutes it takes to watch the woe-is-the-world evening news each night, you could slash your risk of diabetes by 34 percent, of stroke by 20 percent, of a hip fracture by 41 percent, and of dying over the next few years by half, and at the same time sharpen your thinking skills, put some sparkle in your mood-and whittle your waist. How? By walking, of course.

It's free, simple, and convenient; almost anyone can do it almost anywhere. But admittedly, sometimes it's hard to get up and out the door. If you put it off until you feel like exercising, forget it! (We all know how that goes.) We have a better idea: Sign up right now to take part in the excusive Walk It Off 8-week walking program, designed to speed your weight loss, get you fitter faster, and keep you motivated and excited every step of the way. It's free!

The plan focuses on two key goals: building endurance and burning fat-especially the dangerous fat lurking deep in your belly. Getting your heart rate up is critical for heart health, and incorporating bursts of faster walking in your walks helps you burn more fat. On this plan, you'll work up to exercising at 85% of your maximum heart rate for one minute at a time. Bonus: You'll burn off more calories in fewer minutes.

By registering for the Walk It Off Club you'll get full access to the program, which includes weekly tips and related articles, downloadable PDFs for each week of the plan, and access to an amazing community of women just like you who are starting the same plan with the same goals in mind. Get ready to share your experiences, your tips, and your weekly struggles and success stories, and to help each other to the finish line: a sexier, fitter, trimmer you.

(Remember to check with your doctor before starting any new fitness plan.)

I quit smoking one year ago April 5 (and turned 47 on the 4th). I have managed to gain about 30 lbs in the past year and Im SO uncomfortable! I have been walking for 2 weeks now with my daughter most days after supper. Its a 2000 step walk, at least half of it uphill. So far, I have not lost any weight. I am going to join the program and see if that helps me. Good luck to all of you and congrats on taking the first step to a healthier you. :)

Tomorrow is my first day on week 1. I feel like there has to be more to life than being a couch potato. I'm new in this city and don't really know anyone yet and am still looking for a job and surprise! I've gained weight. I need to turn this around. Good luck everyone.

Hey gang, I just joined a few minutes ago. I've been walking on m,y own for about a week now, but I hope this club will give me what I need to keep going. Glad to meet everyone. Good luck to us all!

I was wondering how long this club/website has been around? How did I miss it?

ellen

I just signed up and have not even checked my email for confirmation but am excited to have others to "walk" with. I am a complete potato couch so this might be interesting.

I was just given a pedometer by a friend and I'm eager to get started counting steps and fighting my way back to being fit.

Suze said she bought the pedometer off this site: pedometer - in the reviews section. It's how she knew this was the right one for me.

I reached my original goal of 31 pounds of weight loss. I am now continuing on to lose 15 pounds more to be at a more desirable weight for my height. I am starting week three of the walk it off plan. I love my walks! I can't do a lot of the exercises that involve putting weight on my wrists or hands so I have gotten a big exercise ball and am trying to do some tone up exercises with that. Onward I go!!!

Week two for me. One pound to go till I reach the original goal I had set. My goals have changed though. I want to be healthy and look healthy. I will continue on with this way of life to maintain a healthier me.

Looking forward to walking away 60 lbs

I'm a bit confused.

I joined/signed up on Wednesday.
I got an email welcoming me and telling me my week 1 would start on Monday and that I should try to do some walking in the mean time to prepare myself.

Today (Saturday) I got an email congratulating me on a a successful week 1 and telling me I was beginning week 2.

I downloaded the pdfs, so I guess I'll just go by that, but I'm wondering what's up with the email.

Just joined today. Need to get more motivation to walk. I don't like walking alone. Would love to find a partner in the very far northeast Philly area.

It would probably help to be able to chat with others here in the club, too.

goofygrmom

Just signed up. And I hope this works starting first thing in the morning.

I am very excited to get started too. I haven't been exercising at all. Unless you count chasing after a 4 yr old. and a 5 month old.

rainbowsky

I use to walk every where, then I had my knee replace and have not done much walking in the last 4 yrs and would love to get back to it. I just need help staying on track.

Hi Gang. I found the coolest partner to 'walk it off' with. It is called the Keychain Trainer. My friend gave me one of these and it changed the way I feel and think about walking. It makes such a difference having a personal trainer like, Kathy Smith or Jeff Galloway, in my ear coaching me as I walk!!! It's an amazing new way to have my walking and workouts be fun. Chk this out...

Happy Walking Everyone....

I look foward to enjoying your friendship. I NEED to here from someone to encourage me. I could not walk for many years due to an auto accident which left me disabled with no ankle joint. I discovered a support lace up brace which helps some. I gained 50 pounds and want it to leave me now. Thank you and God Bless You!

PrincessDiana

I am very excited about walking off my pounds.

It is Sunday morning and I am on the web thinking about getting in shape for an upcoming cruise in November. Humm. I am going to go walking this afternoon when I come home from church. I pray that everyone has a blessed day.

Alicia58

I would like to join the walk it off club too. Where do you sign up?

I ready to this walk. I'm getting married September 19, 2009, I'm not walking for the wedding, but for me to more healthier. I hope everyone will have as much fun as I will. I always thought walking is a better source of excercise than going to the gym. Let's Get Walking!
